Flash Free Porn Continues To Make Waves

Flash Free Porn Continues to Make Waves

Earlier this month we were extremely excited to announce that PORN.COM became completely Flash-free! This update not only changed how streaming videos are viewed but also replaced any Flash-based ads on the website.

This significant change is a sign of the time and was viewed as a necessity by the PORN.COM team. Adobe Flash has come under heavy fire in recent weeks and months due to security flaws of the outdated technology. Flash is a product of the mid 90’s and in today’s online landscape has become a common source of malware and security exploits. Industry leaders at PORN.COM recognized the problem early and we are very happy to say that we were the first major adult brand to switch to a Flash-free set-up.

As we’ve enjoyed the success of our new, proprietary HTML5 video player, members of the media have taken notice as we’ve continued our Flash-free awareness campaign and as more details about Flash come to light.

Cade Metz at Wired.com recently wrote about our move to eliminate Flash, how this update has aligned us with internet powerhouses like Google and Facebook and the need for more Tech companies to follow suit.

The Wired article came out at an appropriate time as just today Adobe has admitted to the serious vulnerabilities of Flash and  that the best way to protect yourself is to uninstall flash. This came a day after their most recent monthly security patch. They specifically stated, “A critical vulnerability (CVE-2015-7645) has been identified in Adobe Flash Player 19.0.0.207 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh and Linux.” The official post continues, “Successful exploitation could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.” You can read more about Adobe’s response to be more informed.

The online adult industry in general has been received significant press lately as a handful of other major brands have made changes to align with evolving technologies and customer expectations. Wired has continued to cover these updates as major adult brands are once again driving change and helping set new standards in technology and online conventions.
