No More Porn Mags on Military Bases?

Porn Banned on US Military Bases

No longer will you see glossy Adult magazines such as Penthouse or Playboy being sold at US Army or Air Force military bases. Thank god it’s not because conservative freaks are pushing their agenda on what should be right and what should be wrong. The fact is, it’s really because these sexy magazines are considered old porn on an old medium. Things change, and technology advances, and now people no longer need porn in magazine form to get off when they can get videos in the palm of their hand.

Porn Mags Banned on US Military BasesMagazine sales in the army have dwindled 86 percent since 1998. Lt. Col. Antwan C. Williams spoke out and said “Like their civilian counterparts, exchange shoppers’ increased reliance on digital devices to access content virtually has resulted in a sustained decrease in demand for printed magazines.”

So there solution is to pull the magazines from the shelf and stock them with something helpful, such as more electronics, for the soldiers to purchase.

The Army and air Force Exchange Service is the 43rd largest retailer in the US pulling in close to $9.2 billion a year.

It’s not just porn magazines that are leaving but also Spongebob Comics and The Saturday Evening post. I’m sure our fighting men and women will find a new way to satisfy their Spongebob fix. We’re just concerned they get the porn they deserve!

Somewhere out there group against porn was advocating for this exact thing to happen, and as much as would like to think it was because of them, they should just be happy they got their way. Morality for Media tried to send a letter stating that the military should not be selling material “sexually exploitive nature.”

Once the porn was pulled from the shelves they ended with saying. “It is a great victory that the Army and Air Force exchanges will finally stop selling sexually exploitive magazines,” the group’s executive director, Dawn Hawkins, said in a press release. “Hopefully the other branches will follow suit or Secretary Hagel will order their removal from all base.”

They have far bigger problems if they think that this is a victory for them. #porntakeover2k15
