Plastic surgeon watches porn during surgery

There are accusations leveled against a renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon. The surgeon is being accused of watching porn during surgery and at the same time using drugs.

Tess Broussard, a former patient of the accused, is said to have received botched lip fillers from Dr. Randal Haworth. She tried suing the doctor for medical misconduct in 2013, only for the case to be thrown out when her expert witness failed to testify. Now, she is back with another lawsuit against the doctor which contains a list of strange allegations. She says Haworth recommended a filler to use on her lips that she claims is not permitted by the Food and Drug Administration for that purpose.

“He recklessly used something like this filler, and he used it in places that it shouldn’t be used,” Broussard said. She did not specify the exact injuries suffered, but her attorney said allegations of fraud and infliction of emotional agony are to be included in her amended complaint against Haworth.

Graphics and violent videos

It appears our friend the surgeon is not only a big fan of porn but also has a fetish for graphics and ‘violent’ stuff. According to a surgical assistant who worked with Dr. Haworth for over 15 years, the doctor ‘plays bizarre hard-core pornography and other things in surgery.’

In a 2017 deposition, according to Broussard’s attorney Christopher Rudd, the doctor would play graphic and violent videos (some showing actual beheadings) on a screen in the operating room while performing surgery. Also, the doctor has been accused of altering patients’ medical records and performing surgeries he is unqualified to perform. Dr. Haworth is also accused of using illicit drugs such as cocaine and MDMA, commonly called Ecstasy ‘before and during his performance of surgical procedures’ while “unlawfully using Percocet and writing a prescription for others to obtain Percocet on his behalf.”

Another patient, Laura Day, who had filed an initial lawsuit in 2017, is also claiming in the new filing- based on the recent deposition of Haworth’s former surgical consultant. She says that the doctor failed to disclose an eye problem he had, particularly with depth perception, when he carried out an eye tumor treatment.

As if those allegations are not enough, the doctor is also accused of forging patient consent forms in an attempt to keep his medical accreditation. He is also alleged to have bullied patients who were unhappy with his services. Quite an assortment of charges don’t you agree?

Dr. Haworth claims that the accusations are “preposterous.”

“They might as well say that I killed JonBenét Ramsey,” Haworth told TheWrap. He, however, dropped to elaborate further on the specific accusations, saying that, “The truth will eventually prevail.”

Renowned surgeon

Besides accusations of watching porn during surgeries aside, the doctor is a renowned surgeon in Beverly Hills. Among the significant gigs, he has performed in his role include a roster of famous clients, for example, Lisa Rinna, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star.

His website describes him as a “master plastic surgeon of facial hyper aesthetics and nose.” According to the website, he went to USC’s School of Medicine and served as chief resident in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the UCLA Medical Center.

The surgeon is also the innovator behind the famed “Nightlift” bra, which according to its website, assures to “protect your breasts while you sleep.” Apparently, it does this by ‘helping prevent breast sagging and drooping over time by keeping the breasts perfectly immobile (but always in total comfort),’ says the website.

He was cast as the resident surgeon on Fox’s “The Swan,” a 2004 reality show that featured 16 women as they underwent extensive plastic surgery and counseling. The show was however canceled in season two as its rating dipped as a result of continued criticism for normalizing cosmetic surgery. Dr. Haworth has also previously appeared in CBS’ “The Doctors”.  No matter how you look at it, you have to agree that he has quite an impressive CV for someone who watches hardcore porn in his operating room.

Badly injured a patient

If the lawsuit by Laura Day is anything to go by, Dr. Haworth was better off not watching porn in his operating room after all. This is after Day claimed to have been ‘badly injured’ during a procedure performed by the embattled doctor in 2015.  She claimed to have been ‘mentally impaired for months after the procedure’ and was also ‘permanently disfigured.’

According to Day’s lawyer, Chris Rudd, he was in the midst of what he referred to as ‘a typical malpractice suit’ over a botched procedure when the aforementioned surgical assistant came forward with accusations of misconduct against the surgeon that was included in the proposed amended lawsuit. Rudd says that he will be “seeking very substantial damages for her injuries plus punitive damages for the fraud and intentional torts,” as well as restitution and an injunction.

Final word

For those thinking that porn is for the evil, this incident is your answer. Even surgical doctors can’t keep off some great porn videos even in their operating rooms. As for the accusations, let’s all hope that justice and truth will prevail.
