UK Government Starts ID Checks for Porn

The UK has some pretty strict laws for porn. There are tons of fun things that can’t be shown there already including fisting, squirting and heavy spanking. It really is a crying shame because those are some of the hottest activities out there. Some people think that these laws are really a war on female pleasure because girls are the majority of the people who experience things like squirting and fisting. Even after that the government felt that this was not enough. They decided that they needed to introduce age verification in order to make sure that everything was in order for those who want to watch porn. So now they are making people identify themselves before they are able to purchase porn online. I am sensing a resurgence in the DVD market in the UK. Everyone watches porn, so it’s not a big deal but it just doesn’t feel right to me. People who want to watch porn just want to sign up online and do the deed, they don’t want to have to identify themselves to the government in order to do so.

The law for ID is going to go into effect in April of 2018 so the people there have about 9 months before this will go to work. However, news sources are reporting that they haven’t exactly sussed out just how they are going to identify people. First of all, they think that using a credit card before you are even allowed to look at the site might be a valid option because in the UK you must be 18 to even have one. However, while they haven’t worked out the details of just how it’s going to work, the penalties for non-compliance are going to be severe. Sites that don’t follow suit will be able to be denied access, and perhaps required to be denied access, by internet service providers and payment processors and they could also get a fine too.

Even some people within the UK government think that this measure is a bit extreme and they hope that people can sit down and really think things through before it goes into effect. Age verification is important, but some ministers want to find a long term solution that will really work rather than rushing into a new law and creating a system that is flawed from the start. However, the same piece of legislation that has this in it also has some good stuff. It outlaws people from using bots to buy tickets to events and it also requires VOD services to provide an option for subtitles. Both of those developments are pretty straightforward, however, a porn ID law seems a little anxiety producing if you ask me!
