What’s Up With Anarchy And Their Distribution Arm Fifth Element?

Martin Del Toro writes in: “I shot a movie for Anarchy last year, turn in the project and to this day still no payment.”

If you stop by Anarchy’s offices, there doesn’t seem to be anyone there aside from the Ovadias (and Guy’s girlfriend Leah Luv and one salesperson and three Mexicans in the warehouse).

Anarchy shooter James DiGiorgio emails: “Dude, can’t you get shit right? Anarchy does NOT have three Mexicans in their warehouse. They have a Filipino and a white guy. That makes two guys, not three, and neither of them celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Could there be other erroneous stuff in your report?”

A porner responds: “Ovadias have only one salesman named Alan, Leah Luv, whom Guy is very much concerned to refer to her by her real name, Melissa is the production manager/secretary/phone operator, and they also have THREE MEXICAN EMPLOYEES: two guys who work in the warehouse, and a female caretaker. These are all the people who work in a self-proclaimed multi million dollar international porn company. Nobody else works there. They have changed several staffs whitin the past months: Danny has gone to Jodi and James Melendy at Black Market Productions, Heze left after a short while, etc. There is nobody there but the Ovadia family, Leah Luv,  Alan, and THREE MEXICAN EMPLOYEES. So, in response to James Digiorgio, it’s not a question of where does Luke get his information. It’s a question of how does Digiorgio come up with such bullshit, who is he busting his balls for, and why.”

James DiGiorgio responds: “I’m not going to get in a pissing match over something as trivial as the ethnic make-up of Anarchy’s warehouse employees, especially with some anonymous “porner,” but the fact remains there are only two guys working the warehouse at Anarchy and neither of them are Mexican. This is a straight-up “fact” that our “porner” is, obviously, not aware of. The so-called “female caretaker” provides a weekly cleaning service. I don’t think she’s an employee but, rather, someone in business for herself. BTW, she provided these same duties at Sin City for years and, for all I know, might still do so. She is Hispanic.”

“They are going down,” opines a porner. “How many people they will take down with them remains to be seen.”

“Whenever something needs to be altered or erased, the mother takes care of it,” says a porner. “Scott, who does the box cover designs for Anarchy, was owed hundreds of dollars. He had to take them to court. He lost because he couldn’t provide the original invoices. Why? Because, he suspects, the mother took the original invoices from the office and nobody knows what happened to them.”

Scott posts to this site: “I was the designer that got screwed. I took them to a small claims court and lost. The judge sided Anarchy because they “stretch the truth” about signing off on projects that I turned in and I didn’t have proof that I did turned it in. Also I did lose money thru 5th Element/Jewel De’Nyle. Jewel and Oren said as soon as I turned in all her items I would get paid but it never happened. I did it in good faith and it came back to haunt me. I did learn something from court. My suggestion for anybody doing business is make sure people sign off on the project and make sure you keep it somewhere safe.”

OnePunchKO posts:

Come on you guys. Anyone who knows them or knows the way they do business is going to get screwed! (Just ask D. Sturman) that’s how they got there start is by F-ing him in the first place. I do not do business with them never have, I do know some people that have in the past and not one of those people have had anything good to say. They will ask you to go shoot movies, when the talent (male & female), location, camera person/director and even the PA comes in to get a check the scramble around and make excuses. And when you finally do get it like a month or two later you have a 50/50 no an 80/20 chance it will be good. It is so bad the local check chasing places know the company and will not take them. From what I hear no one really knows who runs the place, the father, the mother the two brothers all say that they are in control, they fight for it. What I don’t understand is how do you control something that is out control? The thing is they have screwed a lot of good people even friends of mine. I just do not think it is right. I do not know what kind of deal Ron had with them, I know 5 th Element is a distribution co. so be careful out there.

Anarchy distributes Jewel De Nyle’s product, now Jewel has one of the biggest mouths in the biz. She will freely say what she feels. Are they paying her? I noticed they just created compilations of all her old Platinum X footage? Things will be interesting once she stops receiving royalty checks and who knows if the books are accurate for her sales too. Read these post on ADT:

(Scroll threw post and you’ll see where her and Oren (son of the Ovadia’s-work together on promoting Fifth Element and bringing down others)

We don’t take things to heart in porn we do it with a chuckle and laugh at ourselves and at some of the names that are made up in our industry. If you take any porn title to serious you need a new hobby. In fact coming up with the names is half the fun.

  • Directors Beware

FYI to answer your question I never flaked out on a movie. The only time I canceled is when I got sick a couple of times but always called the day before or night before to give the directors enough time to replace me. I was the girl the directors called when someone on them didn’t show up and they needed a replacement if I wasn’t already booked. I was always on time but it was a different generation back when I started going on 10yrs ago 95% of all the talent showed up and were ready to work and glad to have the work. Now there’s an over load of product being shot and so much work that it doesn’t matter if you flake out a few times as a new company opens it’s doors everyday and there’s no repercussions.

  • Directors Beware

This is a business and if you cannot show up for your job then other directors should beware to not waste their time. I pay more then anyone else ever did on the East Coast for a shoot so that’s not the issue. The girls that did show were very grateful to get the work. The others that canceled weren’t mentioned on this thread they called and gave me a warning and I made up their scenes not a big deal. I have a problem and I could careless if I burn a bridge with someone who’s so stupid they cannot pick up a phone and call to cancel but they call and confirm then just do not show up. Do us a favor if you don’t want to work don’t say YES to the gig. Aaralyn did email me the next day and apologized as I’ve always given her work and have always…
